Take part in the first ever London half marathon.
Starting and ending in Hyde Park on 12 October 2008, 12,500 runners will race through four Royal Parks, taking in superb views of Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, Marble Arch and the Royal Albert Hall.

Why run for People & Planet?
This is set to be a fantastic event…a running challenge taking in London’s best sights.
Money you fundraise for People & Planet will help us develop award winning campaigns to protect the environment, defend human rights and end world poverty. People & Planet tackles the root causes of poverty. We don’t provide charity and hand-outs to those in need, but challenge the structures and inequalities that keep them poor. This is why your fundraising will really make a difference to people’s lives. Your money will help us provide support to a generation of young people keen to change the world around them and take a stand on what they believe in. Find out more about us.
We’re asking all participants to commit to raising a minimum of £400, or £250 if you’re a student.
What Support will I get?
We will help you reach your fundraising target with professional one to one support from our office. We can give you tried and tested fundraising tips and help you set up a fundraising web page.

How do I register?

To register to take part in the race and fund-raise for People & Planet you will need to send us:
- A completed registration form
- A registration fee of £20
- A refundable deposit of £400 (reduced deposit requirement of £250 for students). NB You’ll get this back if you raise more than the deposit amount (including Gift Aid). If you raise less, we’ll refund what you do raise.

How will I know if I have been accepted?
We will contact you to confirm your place and check that it is OK for us to cash your cheques.
I can’t afford to pay the full deposit, can I still take part?
We may be able to make an exception if you cannot afford to pay the full deposit up front. Please contact us and we will try and arrange an alternative.
